Anxiety & Life Transitions

What helps?

I provide evidence-based therapy for anxiety and life transitions using CBT and ACT. We focus on practical tools that help you feel better, function better, and move forward when stress, uncertainty, or self-doubt are keeping you stuck.

The cycle that often keeps anxiety going

One of the most important patterns in anxiety is that it can quietly narrow your life. When anxiety shows up, it can lead to avoidance, over-preparing, or reassurance-seeking. These strategies help in the short term, but they also reinforce the anxiety. During times of transitions, uncertainty often intensifies this cycle.

Why values matter in this work

Symptom relief matters. ACT also helps you connect with what matters most to you, and use that to guide your choices so you’re not just getting through the day, but moving toward a life that feels more meaningful. We might explore questions like, “What do I want my life to stand for?” or, “What kind of person do I want to be in this chapter?”

What working with me looks like

We start with a focused assessment of what’s been happening and what’s keeping you stuck. Then we build a clear plan, tailored to you, that typically includes:

  • Changing your relationship with worry thoughts so they have less control

  • Taking small steps toward what matters

  • Replacing self-criticism with a more supportive inner voice

  • Clarifying your values and turning them into concrete next steps

Therapy with me is collaborative and structured. The goal is not just to manage anxiety, but to help you move toward the life you want to be living.
